Tom Boyce > I was driving slow to work one mornig keeping a lookout for wildlife, my canmera at the ready when I spied these three sandhill cranes in a field, the morning sun hit them perfectly against the dark forest. I slammed on my brakes and jumped out of my truck to start taking pictures. What I didn't notice was the woman who was jogging up the lonely country road coming the other way. She misinterpreted my jumping from the truck as a prelude to an abduction. Her screams set the cranes off in flight and as I was taking the pictures I started apologizing profusely to her
